Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair was five years old when she became the first child actress to appear in The Exorcist. She had played the role of model for three years prior to her role as the child that was demonized, Regan. Linda Blair rose quickly to notoriety and was awarded her first Golden Globe. She was likely to win an Academy Award. But when the news leaked out that a few roles were actually dubbed and that a stunt-dummy played eight seconds, that dream ended in a shambles. In the following years, she was able to secure leads in a wide range of film productions, such as the hugely successful TV films Born Innocent (1974) (the most watched TV show that year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) in addition to the Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). Her arrest was a result of three years of probation following the pressure of her friends forced her to buy cocaine as she was turning 18 years old. The much-publicized drug bust caused Linda to be placed on the blacklist in Hollywood and her acting work was eventually reduced to B-movies with occasional guest appearances.
