Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. Her birth date was 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox received a scholarship to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. The budget of her was augmented by a stipend to students and part-time jobs. Lennox believed that her abilities were inferior to those of those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative options she could pursue. Lennox began her career in 1976 when she joined a band called Dragons Playground. She quit the group prior to their appearance on I.T.V's talents program New Faces. From 1977 to 1980, she was the main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop band. In this band, she met Dave Stewart and together they created The duo Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her first solo album Diva that was out around 1992. It became a huge hit both critically and commercially.
